    Few Questions

    Hi all,

Last summer we purchased our first nautique, a 1998 Ski Nautique and we're super excited to have lots of enjoyment out of this boat. We're working on a few things to make the boat nicer and I'm looking for some help in some area's I'm not totally sure on.

    1. Skylon SkyRack
We have a Skylon wakeboard pole and we're trying to find an appropriate option to get all of our equipment off the floor in hopes of having either another seat behind the driver seat or space for coolers and what not. Has anyone had any experience in making Ski's fit in the SkyRack? Can we mount regular tower racks on the pole?

Ideally were aiming to have a rack where one side is able to hold 2 Ski's and the other side 2 wakeboards. If anyone has any suggestions I'd love to hear them.

    2. Our second problem is towards the end of the summer the steering started to become very tight but it would sometimes loosen up. Were looking to replace our steering cable and I'm just looking for either a guide or some helpful information as to possibly replacing the steering cable myself rather than paying someone to do it for us.

How long does it need to be? What tools, what steps, etc.

Any information at all would be helpful!

    Thanks,
    Nic

As far storage goes, in my 196 I keep a skylon, a barefoot boom, a wake board, a pair of combo skis and 2 barefoot suits under the bow. (Assuming you have a cb)

check gear for sale on this forum. I have seen skylon racks for sale.

Steering, if it feels tight it probably needs replaced. I've only done one on my 86 so you will get better help from someone else about that. I will just warn you that mine broke at about 30mph so be careful until you replace it.

Scott, we actually have an Open Bow, so we have on occasion put some things up there, but we also have equipment under the main seat. I'll keep my eye on the gear section.

In regards to your 86, now I know it will for sure be different than our boat, but was it fairly easy? or would you recommend simply paying someone to do it for us.
