Anyone ever remove there center ballast tank? Can it be removed without cutting the tank up?

i thought briefly about doing this to get one big *** bag instead. i would think you would have to pull the gas tank and then slide the tanks back.

What Scott said. Have to pull gas tank. Good luck no way I'd ever attempt it though.

I think if you want to go ahead....Once you pull floor panel you can see there are just a few simple straps that hold the gas tank in. No big deal.
It wan't pulling the gas tank that held me back. It was just that I already have an extra bag I can piggy back into belly tank that i did not want to go to waste.

One of my front tanks cracked and was replaced under warranty. The gas tank has to be removed to get either side out. From talking with the mechanic, it wasn't a technically difficult job.
