    faria gauges - depth alarm

I continue to have trouble with the faria gauges on my 03 206 Limited. Last year, the oil pressure warning light started going off. Pressure checked out OK so installed a new faria box. Then didn't have lake water temp or air temp so we did it again. Now, first time in the water, the depth gauge alarm is wacked. It goes off constantly (well, actually every 5 seconds or so). Sometimes showing Deep and sometimes showing shallow. I have walked my way through the manual a hundred times but it will not let me change the depth alarm settings or turn off the settings. Instead it just bounces from function to function and does weird unpredictable things when I follow the steps in the manual.

Anybody know what I am doing wrong? Anybody else having problems with this fancy-dancy gauge set?

I have read other threads on this site that talk about poor grounding of the dash pod and guages.. you might search for something like that. It sounds like electric noise is getting into the guage signals and causing them to be somewhat erratic. Just a guess?

If you are having so many problems with the Faria kit I would ask the dealer to replace (or inspect) the cable that runs from the Gateway box to the dash gauges, this bus cable sends all the information from the engine & gateway to the gauges. If you have had many different problems and have already replaced the box the cable would be the next step.
