Hinge problems on engine hatch??

I have a 96 SS with the hydraulic hatch lift and this weekend the 3 bolts on one hinge pulled out part way on the hatch itself. The only way I can see to repair this is to remove the upholstery on the hatch and fix. Has anyone else had to do this? I`m not sure that I would want to do the upholstery work. Don`t ask how this happened.

Don't do the upholstry work unless you have the correct tools/staples. CC really stretches the upholstry tight. I'd take it to an upholstry shop and let them take it off and put it back on.

Don't ask me how I know. It was ugly.
