Listen to this whistle noise at about 4K RPM

As you watch the video, listen for the whistle as the boat hits about 4K RPM. It does not do it as the throttle increases beyond 4500 or so and does not do it until it hits about 4K. Any ideas as to what this is? It's not wind - it's very consistent.

    Thanks

Wind noise makes it tough to hear, it does sound somewhat like your audible alarm is sounding?? If that is it the led display in the tach or speedo should be indicating what the issue is.

To me it sounds somewhat like the whistle some engines have at the thottle body, but normally that happens at lower engine speeds (around 2000-2500 RPMs). It's a little higher pitched sounding than that whislte I'm speaking of, but that might be because of the higher engine speeds.

Sounds like the whistle at the throttle body. My ZR6 does the same around 3-4k rpm's.

It's a ZR6 - and I wish I had a recording without the wind. I'll try again if I can. It's definitely coming from the engine compartment. Can you elaborate on the throttle body?

Could be the TB. I am also wondering if it could be a bearing in either alternator, water pump or belt tensioner although I would have thought this may be over a wider rev range.

Quite a few Malibu boats have the same TB sound.
