    Swim plat

On nautique parts . Com there is an 07 composite swim plat for sale. What do I need to d to make it fit my 01 San ? And are there any suggestions on things to do to make mine stand out. I like the old body just don't like some of the features. And has he one been surfing behind the older hulls like mine?

Unfortunately I don't think it would be easy to get that 07 platform to fit your boat because the 07+ SAN is quite a bit wider and the transom is shaped differently than your boat. If you want to upgrade to a composite platform your best bet will be to find an 03-06 platform. Nautiqueparts might be able to get one for you and I think I might have seen them on N3s' site but I can't remember for sure.

I have a 99 and have done a few upgrades to make it stand out. My favorite upgrade was changing out all of the plastic bilge and cooler outlets from the white plastic to stainless steel ones that I got from WakeMakers. I would highly recommend making that change for your outlets and ballast vents. I also changed out the black plastic cupholders for stainless steal ones and I have been happy with those results as well. I also recently added the stainless Sano step pads to the gunwales behind the tower. I also removed the plastic rub rail end caps and replaced them with...you guessed it the stainless steal nautique end caps that the newer boats use. These are all pretty subtle and cost effective changes that were relatively easy to do and I really like the way they came out. Let me know if you want any more info or pics.

If you are not happy with your graphics you can definitely upgrade those to something newer. Nautique Parts has a ton of options to choose from. The Chromax Super Air Nautique graphics are pricey but they look great. If you are going to change your graphics I would remove what you have first and make sure you can buff out or wetsand any "ghosting" before you order, otherwise you may need to go back the original ones.

Just realized I forgot to answer your question about surfing. You can definitely surf these hulls and get a good but far from great wave. You can ride ropeless and have some fun but it is hard to get a long wave so you end up riding pretty close to the boat is the main issue. The starboard side is easy to shape up because you are not fighting prop rotation but port side works too. I do not have factory tanks but here is my setup for port side: 750 full in the port locker, 400 lbs sack on the port passenger seat as far aft as you can go (if I have more than 3 people in the boat I don't use this sack and just sit people in that corner), 600 lbs sack in the belly locker and then I have the integrated sack under the bow seats that probably gets 400 lbs or so in it and that seems to work pretty good. I think speed is around 10.5-11 but I haven't surfed my boat yet this year so I don't remember for sure.

A nice trick I learned for that 400 lb sack in main cabin is to remove the corner cushion and fill the sack up in it's spot. This way you aren't putting undue stress on the cushion and the sack stays in place and doesn't roll.
