Be careful buying an automotive pump for marine applications. If the diaphragm fails on an automotive pump the gas leaks out as little vent hole onto the ground. In a boat it leaks out into the bilge. BOOM! There are 5 things you want to make sure are rated for marine applications. The carburetor, alternator, fuel pump, starter, and starter solenoid. All are sealed to prevent gas leaking into the bilge or an open spark in the bilge. They are sealed which is why they are more expensive.
Are you positive the fuel pump is out? I had the same issue, ordered a fuel pump but decided to check the relays before I installed the pump. Changing the relays fixed it right up and I had o ship the pump back, etc... Just a thought
just make sure you get a marine relay. I hear that its ok to use an automotive one to diagnose but they dont have the mounting bracket - so I wouldnt recommend it out on the water.
