GT-40 Q on Acceleration vs. Cruise Mode

Quick Q. Does the GT-40 have an acceleration and "cruise" mode like the older carb'd Pro-Tec motors. When i finally added ballast over stock on my 01' Air it would stop accelerating hard at around 14-15mph and i would have to give it more gas to get to 22-mph and have PP engage.

Not a problem, just like to know how everything works.

    Cheers!
    Brett

Brett, I think this is a problem with Perfect Pass. I believe Perfect Pass is designed to back off the throttle, as you approach the set speed, to avoid overshooting the speed. With a slalom skier, a light ski boat accelerates harder, and needs the throttle backed off sooner

Remember, Perfect Pass was designed for a slalom skier, with a light boat, and a relatively big engine, running close to the RPM where the engine is most efficient. When you wake board, you run the engine below an optimum speed, with a heavy load. You can learn the characteristics of the perfect pass in your boat, and you can work the throttle a little more to assist the Perfect Pass to settle in to the desired speed.
