Fcc fuel cell, pcm 5.7 2011

    Guys

When changing element inside FCC Canister the manual says'

' disconnect the fuel supply line from the LPFP'

WHERE IS THE FUEL SUPPLY LINE....I only have the elec connector attached to the LPFP

I HAVE RUBBER HOSE connected to top of canister...is this the fuel supply line?

Also do I remove any of the two hard piped fuel lines (fuel in and return) coming into the top of the canister

See picture attached of my set up

    thanks for help

it is the rubber hose on the left of your pic. I just changed mine and couldn't for the life of me get that hose to budge. so I ended up not removing it. still got the FCC filter changed.

Just looked a bit further and referred to manual again. I have also a rubber hose fuel line directly entering at the bottom of the LPFP, MAYBE THIS IS WHAT IS TO BE REMOVED MAKES SENSE.

Shawndoggy I think (maybe wrong) but the hose going into the top of the canister on the left might be the fuel overflow hose returning to the tank

well on my boat, the hose on the left goes to the gas tank, so that's the one I consider the "fuel supply line."

In any event, like I said (and remember this is a sample size of one, shade tree hack), I did not remove ANY hoses. Rather I just drained the canister by removing the bottom plug (have a can or other receptacle ready to catch a pint or more of gas), then removed the t-bar clamp that holds the two halves of the FCC together. Pull hard on the bottom half and it comes off, with the filter down there in the bottom. Fish it out, put new filter in. Put new O ring on top half of FCC, push bottom half back on to top half, reinstall t-bar clamp, reinstall bottom plug, off to the races. Took me about 30 minutes, mostly waiting for the gas to drain from the canister. I'd think I could do it again in 20.

I did unplug the deutsch plug for the fuel pump just so it wouldn't randomly start pumping on me (though battery switch was off so that should be impossible).
