    Hi again everyone,
After removing the hard fuel tube/pickup from the tank, and cutting it off slightly below where it pushes on the 90 degree fitting, I re-installed it (by pushing it back on). I believe it might have expanded slightly over time, and was leaking slightly. Even then, I can see a tiny amount of air bubbles in the clear temporary supply fuel line I installed to the engine.

I ran it quite a bit this weekend, (and it didn't cut out on me at all), so I believe that was the problem. I still do plan to try to find some of this hard fuel line, to replace it eventually, but it seems good for now anyway.

This took a long time to diagnose (over the past year or more), so I want to thank you all for your advice. Running clear fuel line to and from the engine/tank had to be the best piece of advice I received, as it pretty much tells you what is going on in your fuel system from a flow standpoint. Once you can see what is going on you can then diagnose the cause.

Thanks again, and have a great 4th of July week on the water!!

I have a 1996 Ski Nautique with the identical issue described above. First thought was a clogged fuel filter, which I replaced and issue persisted. My next thought was a clogged pick-up at the gas tank. I called the marina and they said to run it with the gas cap off. This corrected the issue. PS, I am not a mechanic, but like to turn a wrench, i did check the vent initially and it looked clear. As the boat is up north, i will take the vent hose apart and check for more obstructions.
