Oil Sending Unit and Oil Pressure Switch

I'm having oil pressure issues that I posted in another thread. This question is related, but different enough that I think it deserves it's own thread in case others have the same problem. I am concerned that the mechanic that replaced the oil sending unit on my boat didn't get all the wiring right. I want to verify what wires go where (which I can do by grounding out each one individually to isolate Check Engine Light (CEL), Alarm, and Gauge). After I know which wires control which functions, how do I know which wires are supposed to be connected to what? Questions:

    1) Are both analog and digital PSI gauges controlled by the same wire?
    2) Is the CEL connected to the sensor or the switch?
    3) Is the alarm wire connected to the sensor or the switch?
    4) Related to questions 3/4 above, is there indeed a separate wire for alarm and CEL (meaning three wires total - alarm, CEL, gauges)?

Right now, I will randomly lose oil pressure on both gauges and the alarm sounds, but the CEL does not come on. Giving more or less throttle restores the gauges and the alarm stops. This makes me think that the sensor is faulty and that he wired the alarm to the sensor, but the switch (also replaced), never comes on which makes me think that I'm not truly losing oil pressure. So basically I'm trying to figure out how all this is supposed to be wired so I can put it back the way it should be. I'm all up for buying a manual on this kind of thing - I just need to know where to get it.

    Thanks!
