LOOKING FOR A FEW MORE (MPH OR KNOTTS) PER HR.

JUST CAME TO PLANET NAUTIQUE A FEW WEEKS AGO. I'M ENJOING THE TOPICS, I'VE GATHERED ALOT JUST BROWSING. I'VE BEEN W/CC SINCE 83. I JUST SOLD A BEAUTIFUL 86SN AND REPLACED IT WITH A 99SS. THE GT-40 IS AWESOME AND WE LUV THE ROOM. THE MOTOR IS NEW, REPLACED BY EASTCOAST FLIGHTCRAFT AND A WARANTEE FROM PCM.(THE BOAT WAS TOOK IN ON TRADE.THE PREVIOUS OWNER HOSED UP THE WINTERIZING.) @WOT MY RPMS ARE 4250. AND SPEEDS ARE 42-43. I HAVE AN OJ 4 BLADE. IS THIS ABOUT RIGHT. WHEN I WENT TO AN ACME(3 BLADE) ON MY 86 I GAINED 4MPH. CAN I DO ANYTHING FOR A BOOST I'M GOING TO NEED IT FOR MULTI-MAN BAREFOOT. LUVIN THE BOAT.

The motor should tach out at 4800 to 5000 and the boat should run 45 to 46 mph at sea level. Are you running at higher altitude?

Agree with nms1991. That's about what I see on my 2001.

Compare apples to apples, size, pitch, rake etc. To wake up Fords if the chain sprocket are Ford parts, change to over the counter parts. Ford retards the cam timing 8 degrees from over the counter parts. 4800 t0 5000 Rpm are the norm, however it may have been proped to perform a specific job, all boats are not equal, too many variables

Thanks for the input. I strongly agree, I need to be turning a few more hundred rpm's. I'll do a little more research on my prop, may get back into Acme.
          Again thanks!
