1996 Super Sport Transmission fluid change

Does anyone know how to change the fluid on the Velvet drive? Drain plug, or vacuum pump? Capacity level of Dexron III?

Also, what kind of fluid is recommended for the gear box? There is a label on there that says use 30 wt oil if it is a Rv-10 model Thru RV-50, or use APG-80 gear oil, or Exxon Spartan EP-68 gear oil.

For Rv-51 model Thru RV-91, use Exxon Spartan EP-68 gear oil, or
    APG-80 Gear oil.

I cannot tell what model gear box I have any suggestions on how to tell, or where to look?

    Thanks,

    Carey

    transmission

I just flushed my 2001 san tranny. Used atf dextron 3, I think it took one quart ? I dont know how much I took out, but it was pretty easy using a oil pump extractor, and refilling, running the boat, flushing it again etc. etc. For some reason, water entered my tranny when the hose popped off and flooded my bilge....see impeller change out on earlier forum.

      RE: transmission

Those numbers are for the V-Drive unit, both the trans and V-drive have separate oiling systems. Use 30 weight non detergent oil in the V-drive unit because it is a RV-46 model. The trans uses dextron 3. To change the trans fluid you have to siphon the fluid out the dipstick hole. To change the V-Drive oil you will have to remove the floor board to access the drive and find the 3/8 square plug on the back near the bottom facing the back of the boat, use a pan short enough to fit under the V-drive to catch the oil and use a pump to keep the oil from over flowing the pan. I think it takes 1 1/2 to 2 quarts for the V-drive. The trans should be a pcm trans model 40I and it should use 1 to 2 quarts of atf depending how much you get out of the trans.
