    Perko Flush Pro

I recently purchased the Perko Flush Pro system and installed it. The system works great and isn't hard at all to install. I installed it right before the impeller and it works great. Started the boat on the trailer and once it hit 165F the temps did not rise any more. For those that are considering one of these I highly recommend it. One piece of advice though...don't try to install it while your in the boat. Take a piece of the hose off and do the cutting in the garage, then you can just put it in-line right there in your garage and then you just have to put that piece of hose back on. Very simple, and only took about 15-20 minutes.

Hey, do you run a hose to a convenient place or just open the floor hatch to connect the hose?

Not sure which motor or how your plumbing is routed exactly, ideally the flush pro should be installed as close to the thru hull intake as possible, ensures fresh water is flowing thru as much of the cooling system as possible.

That's right...because there is no way to flush the flush pro backwards....like if you had just a tee. If you are really trying to flush it out like w/sea water use.

I'm thinking he missed the tranny cooler...so I'm wondering how hot the tranny fluid gets when spinning in neutral? "shouldn't" be a problem unless the fluid is already hot from use...as in the case of flushing after sea water use.

If before the strainer and the FP is used for winterizing, the strainer bowl needs to be removed so it doesn't craze.

See...nothing's "easy" with all this claptrap.

I didn't really install it for winterizing purposes because down here in Alabama, my garage never gets cold enough for me to have to do anything. I just treat the fuel and that's it. I installed so I can start the motor on the trailer if for some reason I need to work on something. Its always good to be able to test what you have fixed before you get out on the water.

Okay...so maybe check to see if your tranny cooler is going to run without without water. If so, maybe watch it the first few times....especially if you just brought it in and the fluid is already hot when you run it on the hose.

Remember, ....do not put your tranny into gear when the boat is not in the water....for safety reasons and that the shaft and packing are dry.
