    Gt40

So i have a 95 GT40. And i really didnt think i had too much of a problem with my engine. Then i rode in a buddies boat who has a ~2000 gt40 and his boat does not struggle like mine does at all. With the same amount of weight in both our boats it seems like mine has a chore to pull a rider out of the water and get up to speed. His just shoots out of the water. The only major difference is a 4 blade prop vs a mine has a 3blade prop. But can that make that big of a difference?

sure can! depends on blades, pitch and diameter. some people use more than 1 configuration depending on what they are doing. a different prop can improve hole shot for sure.

+1 a prop can make a huge difference on performance and it will be especially noticeable during hole shot when loaded down.

        +2 regarding the prop

However, although the engine is the same, are you both in the exact same hull configuration? Not sure which model you are talking about (I assume SAN though)

we actually arent even close to the same hull type... he is a Vdrive super sport. I have a Hydrodyne Grandsport. Just use this forum b/c nautiques use the same engine.

I would think the hull shape also makes a fair amount of difference on engine performance
