    Starter relay wiring GT-40 help

I'm in desperate need of some help here. When replacing the relay I was very careful to replace the wires as they existed on the old one. I zip tied and labelled the wires off each post. I was unsuccessful and then started swapping wires around. Now I don't even have power to the dash. So here's the situation......
I'll start with what I believe is 100% correct....
The yellow wire from the ignition switch is going to the S terminal
The red battery wire from my perco is going to my B terminal.
Now here's where it gets messy:
There is a wire with 3 connections coming out of it. I think they're all purple.
2 of these wires go to the small 'I' terminal. The 3rd wire goes to a big post. Should it go to the battery ('B'), or 'M'?
Now for the last post (M) and theres 3 wires that need a home.
    The red batter

Oops that post got '*** sent' before I finished.
Off the starter I have a red and yellow. Do both of these go to the same post - "M'?
And there's one more red wire. I'm assuming its power to the dash? Does this go on the 'B' terminal with the battery or 'M' with the red and yellow from the starter

I hope this explanation is understandable.
    Thanks for any help

      Ok self update...
I didn't realize that the relay had to be bolted down for a ground. So now the motor is turning over.
Now the problem is the key will not shut the motor off. I also have the lanyard pulled to prevent the motor running, but its not doing its job.
      Any ideas?
