Mufflers possible for Python engine?

Hi guys,
Does anyone know why the Python engines didn't come with mufflers? Will a "marine" muffler work on this engine setup? Anybody know if there are any issues with mounting mufflers on a Pro Air(99) with a Python engine?
I know a little bit about engines and exhaust systems, but only as they relate to automotive apps. Not sure what the issues are on a boat, I also don't know what kind of backpressure the marine muffs create. Anyone know what kind of db reduction would be possible with the mufflers?

wow, old thread! Well, I ended up using an Fresh Air Exhaust to solve the noise, and got an additional benefit of no fumes! We really enjoyed the difference the FAE made with our boat.

I really like my FAE, but there is one downside to them (aside from initial cost). If you hydrofoil, they aerate the prop wash significantly more than normal, and you get a sizeable spot with no lift in between the wakes. I have gotten used to it, but it was quite noticeable when I first added the FAE to my 2000 SAN.

That's amazing you would notice that.

You notice all kinda of things when you have to use the water to fly instead of just skimming over the surface. Clear water is lifty, muddy water is slow. Lake Austin rides completely different than Lake LBJ, and the Colorado arm of LBJ is different from the rest of the lake. The colder the water gets the better the tune on your foil needs to be or you start to have issues, everything comes to life above 60, with a little luck that's mid March through mid November here. Fish suck, but not at much as turtles and sticks.
