    New Starter

Any comments on why I should not use this marine starter for my ZR6? It's $100 cheaper than a true OEM, but it still has a 1 year warranty.

    Thanks guys!

If you going to go for cheap Chinese stuff go all the way, http://www.dbelectrical.com/p-8259-n...-ra122019.aspx. $79.00. I've gotten a few things from them, they ship quick, just be sure you know what you want, they don't seem to know much about the products.

      Hey Jkallen,

My boat wouldn't crank over today and all I hear is "click" when I hit the start button. It wouldn't start a couple times the last couple weeks but eventually started but today it wouldn't crank over at all. I'm assuming is the starter. Does this problem sound familiar? Thanks

while it's cranking hit the starter with a few solid taps of a hammer and see if that frees it. if it does it means your starter needs replaced/rebuilt. i had the same issue about a month ago.

        good luck.

          Hey 2001,

Thanks for the reply! I'm thinking I need a new starter. You wouldn't happen to know exactly which one I need do ya? I looked on nautiqueparts and they're showing a few different ones and I'm not sure which one to get.

          Thanks,

what engine? could you not have your current one rebuilt?

could be cheaper assuming the starter isn't toast.

ps. the guys at nautique parts will know. email townsend , he's tres helpful.
