    Service Update SUP2006-03, low pressure fuel pump failure

    How does nautique and PCM handle out of warranty, recall issues. I had the low pressure fuel pump fail today. Pretty much confirmed it with the FCC being empty, the testing pumps, pressure, filling FCC and firing up.

    This recall applied to my boat and engine serial number. Is there anyway I can find out if the pump was ever replaced for the recall? If it hasn't, how will this be handled?

    At least I got pulled in by another Nautique.

    The original pumps lasted only a few hours. Likely yours was replaced.

    In about 5 minutes, I'll post how to tell if you have the original pump or a new one.

    I can almost guarantee a new one...but please let me know.

    EDIT: So look at the molded plastic housing of the electrical plug. On the pump portion (not the harness), there will be a sticker.
    If your pump has a black dot sticker on the wiring harness, it needs to be replaced. If it has a white dot on it, then it has been replaced.

    I could tell mine was replaced because the black coating/paint on the nuts was boogered up. But the dot check confirmed it.

    ps - you need to check the relay and how many hours do you have?

      When I say a few....I mean like 1 or 2...not 20 or 30 or 100.

      Also, PCM had no record of my pump being change. We believe the selling dealer changed it and didn't make a claim to PCM.

        Air tool brings up a good point. Boat dealers are very different than auto dealers in that they are not required to have the documentation follow that you would see in the automotive industry.

            If yours has the small fuel pre-filter strainer, order that too you can replace it while you have it apart.
