    Rough idle

    I have a "new to me" 2012 210 with a 450 in it.

A few days ago the engine started idling really rough after the engine warms up. It will vary from 600 rpm's up to 670 rpm's. If I'm in gear, just above idling, heading back to a downed rider and pull back on the throttle to quick, the rpm's will drop close to 400 and the motor just about stalls.

I talked to one of the service guys at the dealer and he said that it could be a number of things but said it might need to be re-calibrated. This is something that Nautique is currently working on...?

Has anyone else on here experience the same thing? I'm over 2 hours away from the dealer and I'd rather fix it on my own so I don't lose any water time.

    Thanks

The dealer wants you to take your boat to him so he can recalibrate it. . . . . . . I have a house for sale if your interested

When was the last time all the fuel filters were changed and the boat given a descent service?

Start by changing the primary fuel filter, and the FCC filter, also check the pick up in your tank. There's a small mess on the end, could be that this has become clogged. If you drain your fuel cell into a half empty water bottle you should be able to see any water or rubbish collected in it. If there is, change all your filters.

I'd start there before spending heaps of money. Let me know how it goes

Got through the summer with the rough idle issue. Most days it ran good... I learned how to avoid accidentally stalling the engine. I brought it to the dealer this fall for some warranty work which consisted of PCM's exhaust recall, one transom light was burned out and then the engine recalibration from PCM. This definitely fixed the rough idle issue and it was covered under warranty!

Nice! That was a common problem with the new 450 boats until they came out with the recalibration. Dude you have a 450 210 you are more of a man than most people. That thing has to be a rocket ship.

Haha yeah I have plenty of power on the water!!! Decent fuel economy. I love seeing the look on peoples faces when I tell them there's a 450 under the hood!
