    94 SNOB WON`T START

:???: I at a loss as to why it won`t even turn over (engage starter). I have power to dash blower bilge pump stereo ect. I`ve checked the kill switch and the gear lever interlock. The starter motor has power and works as I bridged the power to it and the starter works.I`ve also changed the relay with a new one.Still no go.If the battery was as fault as I tried to start it the guages would die and that does not happen.I`ve checked the ignition switch and it works. It just doesn`t get the start signal from the Ignition. Is the kill switch a normaly closed switch? so that when you pull the lanyard out it breaks the power circuit. Can anyone give me some help. Thanks in advance Tim

slob02 has got it. Bridge the neutral safety switch and then try. It sits atop the transmission next to the control lever and has two yellow wires coming out of it.

Yep I`ve checked the neautral switch sorry I called it the Gear lever interlock.I`ve looked for fuses can`t find any.Is there 1 hidding that I can`t find? The Ignition on mine has been changed from the protech to a mallory ignition. But it was all done professionally as far as I can see.I`ve owned it for 2 years with no trouble till now.

Try bypassing the kill switch. Tha is the only other circuit that I can think of that would interupt the start signal

Ok, by saying you checked the ignition switch, have you tried "hotwiring" the boat with the ignition wires, completely bypassing the key-start ignition switch? If my voltage is just slightly low there is enough to start but not enough to engage the relay. I have to turn off every accessory, including blower, and it starts immediately. When you turn the key, assuming the ignition switch works, what voltage do you get to the small wire in the relay at the back of the engine?

Found the problem! The start solinoid was not working, so feeling brave I drilled out the rivets hoding it together and pulled it apart and found that the earth wire had broken on the inside plate so a little silver solder later put it back together installed it hit the key and she fired. I did also find that the kill switch was faulty will have to try and find a suitable replacement for it here in Australia. SO it was an earth problem after all just not an easy one to find. Thanks for all your input.
