Piston for Passenger Seat on 200V Sport

I have a new '13 200V; the piston for the passenger seat (rear facing) will not keep the seat up when trying to access that storage area. Called my dealer and he had new piston sent, but after install, it is worse than the original. Both pistons are part# ML36-60; other info on piston: 7451QG 0270N 215/12 C 27. Any other owners having this problem. Does 200 direct drive have similar piston?

That is certainly my plan; just a shame I can't get the appropriate piston from Nautique. I was just wondering whether other owners felt the piston did not adequately hold their seat up.

You're looking for a "gas spring." Amazon has them as well as other online sources. The important factors are the length and strength. Those numbers you have indicate that but I can't remember how it's noted at the moment. A google search should sort that out for you.

They definitely are pretty bad. In my 2008 I had to replace like 6 or 7 of them last year. I personally think a gas spring/shock should last longer then 4 or 5 years. Under car hoods the last like 15 years...

Thx Surfsmith; that is very helpful. Also just noticed that the packing list from my new part states that the ML36-60 is a 17.2 inch 60 lb gas spring. It appears that 80 lbs should do the trick.

Mine works OK at best (2013 200v). It is pretty much just good enough to convince you to stick your head under it before it comes crashing down. Seems like a worthwhile upgrade...

Mine has no issues at all. Maybe I got lucky.
