    2000 SN 196 Bilge Filling ?

    Hi
I have new to me 2000 SN 196. When I leave it in the water for 24 hours I notice the bilge taking on a couple gallons of water. I started using the auto bilge pump function so no big problem. But I am wondering how the water is entering. My 92 196 diden't take on much at all. I checked where the wire is on the rear shaft and there is no dripping back there seems like it may be entering at the t handle drain. Any ideas on this? Thank You for any info.

Here are some area's to check:

    -drive shaft packing gland
    -steering rudder packing gland
-hose connections from hull to transmission
-hose connections from transmission to raw water pump
-all exhaust connections from the exhuast manifold to the hull
-around the tracking fin mounting screws
    -around the strut mounting screws
-around the steering rudder mounting screws

The fiberglass muffler can get a hole, from rubbing in the hull. Take the rear seat, and rear floor board out, and float the boat. Start the engine, and watch the muffler for water coming from under it, especially when starting the boat.
