    Loss of Power

I have a 2002 SATE and at least 3 times this summer, I have lost complete power and ignition when I hit a big wave. It doesn't happen all the time, but everyone once in a great while if the boat hits really hard this situation happens. I have discussed this with the local nautique mechanic and he hasn't been able to figure out why.

I don't know if it is a result of this situation, but I have now put 2 starters on the boat in 2 years (or seasons).

Any ideas as to why I am losing power & ignition?

So the boat shuts completely off right? Do you still have power to the dash or does that go out too? If you still have power to the dash then check your safety lanyard to make sure it is still in good working order and holding the button in tightly. Mine got very sun faded and sort of bent out so it would no longer hold the button in very well and would sometimes stall going over big waves because the lanyard would bounce around. I got a new lanyard from NautiqueParts.com(10 % discount code: PND) and have not had this problem since. If your lanyard looks to be in good shape then check the wiring for the safety lanyard. If you stall and lose power to the dash then I would check the wiring and the switch itself for the on/off/bilge switch. Check out this thread for more information:
