Most of those you have to check voltages not ohms. First thing I would do would be to check the grounds and make sure it's getting fuel. Pop the schrader valve on the fuel rail and see if it has pressure, then start at the battery and work your way back to the control module. The website has instructions on how to put it in test mode, or get a code reader and get the codes. Don't waste your time checking sensors until you pull the codes, the MEFI should tell you what's out of spec. The manual has a step by step diagnostics to follow. http://www.pirate4x4.com/tech/billavista/MEFI/
Thanks Oceeski. I'll take a look. We've been working with the 2007 PCM ECM diag manual. Same thing here...very good decision trees.
    Peace..

Thanks for your help. Sod man and I are going to try some things this week and see if we can get this figured out. Hopefully we'll have an update for you by the end of the week.
Well...we tried. Dealer has it again and is jumping through hoops working with PCM to try to get to the bottom of the issue. Overall, this has been a pretty frustrating problem and I know Nauti wants his boat back. Stay tuned.
        Peace..

I am impressed that you (all the pn contributors) have as much mechanical skills, and usually more, as the dealer mechanics. It are the posts like these that make me realize how much of a mechanical idiot I truely am. Good luck

Some days....I wish I didn't know so much. Ignorance is often bliss.

I can't believe the dealer can't narrow down the choices....or rule out known good parts.

            Good grief.

Thanks to all who offered help on this. The boat is now fixed and the culprit was a melted area on the harness leading to the crankshaft position sensor. It was located in a hard to reach area and apparently laying against the exhaust for whatever reason. To be honest, I'm just really glad to put the issue behind me and get back on the water. I have a lot of time to make up!
