2006 SAN blower - where does it vent to?

I want to make sure my vent hose is actually doing it's job. It seems that it just sits with an open end of the hose on the starboard side of the engine compartment and if I follow it, it looks like it goes down into an opening in the carpet beside the starboard ballast. This doesn't seem right to me so i usually open that compartment to let it vent. Any clues or pics as to where the hose is supposed to go would be great.

    Thanks!

That setup does not sound right, sounds like it is just moving the air around instead of out of the bilge. I am not positive but I assume the blower setup is similar on your 06 as it is on my 99 and I just looked through my phone and found a decent pic that helps to show the routing. If you are looking at the back of the boat then the hose that goes into the left side of the blower should go down be going down through the starboard compartment and through a hole in the divider and into the bilge under the motor like I think you described. The hose on the other side hooks onto a piece of PVC pipe via hose clamp or zip ties. This pipe is blocked on the port side and has a slit in the middle that will let the fumes out of the center of the transom just below the sundeck.

If the blower is not functioning correctly then opening the hatch while starting is better than nothing but be careful because gas fumes are heavier than air so they likely won't vent properly by just opening the hatch. Good luck and let me know if you need any more details on how it should be hooked up.

The blower on the 06 is located on the port side of engine compartment, bolted to the rear transom. From there it routes to a vent (black or silver) that is located on the outside of the port locker. These are the 12" long vents you see from the outside of the boat between the sundeck and rub rail on each side of the boat.

I found it. It had dropped down from outside vent - next to the 3" fresh air intake vent. FWIW, mine is a ZR6 and vents on the Starboard side. There is identical setup on the port side if it ever needed to be re-routed. I need a new blower and all new hoses as well. My blower pops the breaker every 8-10 secs - it was oiled and that fixed it for a few weeks.
