what to use for shim for loose screws

Not picking on nautique boats...ok maybe a little. i have lot's of screws, especially into seat backing/hatch backing that don't hold anymore. Usually I just get next bigger screw. But it doesn't always work. Sometimes I shove some paper in the hole. This usually helps.

Thought I would tap into the collective wisdom of this forum. What do people use for shims with loose screw situations?

I know what you mean...I mix up tiny/small amount of epoxy resin with thicker (cabosil or tiny glass beads) and fill oversized hole, and if on a non-exposed place I may add a tiny piece of fiberglass material to provide a new hard surface to screw into over the hole.
