Help! Having an issue with Perfect Pass when I set it for cruise control

This is the second week I have taken the boat out on the lake 08" SANTE 230TE and have been wake boarding and ran into a problem with Perfect Pass. I set it for 19mph and take off with boarder in tow and for about 2-3 minutes the Perfect pass works fine. Then it will start to drop speed to 12mph then jump back up to 16mph then go back to 19mph then keep jumping up and down with the speed. I have to shut the perfect pass off and manually throttle thru the rest of the tow. Has anyone had this problem before? If so how do you fix it?

Are you applying enough throttle for it to accelerate if needed? When you engage PP, you should advance the throttle to full throttle. Otherwise the system is limited by the amount of throttle you have given it at the handle. If you only advance the throttle to 1/2, then the most throttle it will ever apply is 1/2, no matter what PP needs.

Also, being an '08, it should have Zero Off, not Perfect Pass. Same thing though with regard to the throttle.

Yes,

I push the throttle all the way over at the time I launch the boat. It stays there until person in tow goes down and I turn Perfect Pass off and then throttle down to turn around and pick the boarder up. Yes your right it is Zero Off. Any other thoughts on what might be causing the issue?

I haven't heard of this happening before with ZO. Since ZO is used with drive-by-wire systems, it is all electronically controlled, instead of a system that moves a manual throttle cable like PP. There isn't really anything mechanical to check, assuming the throttle arm and related parts are working properly. Are there any issues with the throttle when ZO is not on?

By chance does the issue happen only at the same spot on the lake? I have PP with GPS, and I get this a particular part of the lake (if really cloudy), which I have chalked up to a combination of terrain (high cliffs), clouds, and an interrupted GPS signal.
