I recently hit a stump in my 93 Sport Nuatique. I replaced the shaft strut, propeller ( 13x12.5 ACME ), and had a new shaft custom made. I put everything on the boat today and I have a vibration. I took the prop off and put it back on the old shaft then measured how far it was from the end 1 1/16". I then put the prop on the new shaft and measured to the end 3/4". The nut will not go on far enough to get the pin into the shaft. Could this mean the prop is not going far enough on the shaft and cusing my vibration. I did beat the coupling at the transmission up pretty badly, but I had the machine shop straighten it out and it seems to mount flush to the tranny. I watched the shaft spin through the access panel and it does appear to shake a little, but not very much. What is acceptable in terms of runout on the shaft? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
