Remote oil filter lines leaking, 2003 SN 196

Ref a 2003 SN 196, PCM Excalibur, 5.7L engine. On the remote oil filter lines, oil is starting to leak at the top of the crimped connections (see pic). Is there some way of fixing, tightening, or redoing this connection or do you just need to buy new lines. Cost? Tks,mac

Have new ends/crimps put on the pipes. Cheap repair.

You could get new hoses from your friendly neighborhood Nautique dealer. Almost every medium sized city has a company that specializes in oil filters for trucks, and other applications. You could also dress up the engine a little, and get stainless steel braid hoses with the blue and red fittings, made by Aeroquip.

Fram oil filtels are not the best you could buy. Oddly enough the correct filter for a remote oil filter mount is the Motorcraff FL1-A, a Ford filter. Other better filters are Wix, and Napa.

Dan C - thanks for the plug. I work for Eaton who owns Aeroquip. I'm in the electrical group, so I can't get fittings.
