    change GT-40 thermostate

    since my engine temperature tend to 180F,after other checking,no help,now I get a new 143F,thermostate ,I try to change by my self,any body can tell me the location of the thermostate and step by step to change it, thank you in advance .

    the thermostat housing is on the top of the engine towards the rear of the boat. If it is raw water cooled ( the motor has water from the lake cooling the block) then it should have three hoses going into the housing and two allen head screws holding it down. But it should have a 160 degree thermostat.

      Thanks your advise,my boat use in sea,use heat exchange,I got 143F thermostate.the location you mean is beside the distributor and the alternator,beside red hose,the metal block connected 2 hose ?
