Found this in the Bilge. What is it?

Does anyone have an idea of what this is? The wires look like they are routed to the area it was in. It looks like there are two black wires that go all the way to the dash.

Judging by the pictures on this page it looks like a v-drive oil pressure switch. http://www.nautiqueparts.com/search.aspx?find=sensor

It is a Hobbs (pressure) switch which were used on v-drive boats to illuminate the idiot light on the dash if oil pressure was too low above 1200 RPM. Given the placement of that one I don't think it goes to the v-drive unless there is more wire I can't see in the pic. It is at the front of the engine on what looks to be a v-drive boat. Maybe a similar switch, but for engine oil pressure? What boat and engine? Was this boat on fire? It looks to be covered in soot from a fire.

it is a 2008 211. The engine is a 2007 Excalibur 343. The computer is an ECM 07. I just replaced the engine oil pressure switch so thats not it. The plug is so far away from the V-drive. I have no idea what it could be or why it is there.

Certain knock sensors can have a similar appearance.

Thanks for the help. I found out that its a sensor for an automatic fire extinguisher.

"Was this boat on fire". Jeez...that is really dirty in that engine compartment. Are you sure you are fit to own a nautique? lol.

It's Just dirt. I just got it. It was one of Nautiques demo boats. I'm currently restoring it... so maybe you should ask Nautique if they are fit to own one of their own boats.

Hey, I wasn't taking a cheap shot. It was a legitimate question with everything in the pic being covered in what looks like black soot. OP, glad you found where the part went.

I know it was a legit question haha don't worry, I was responding to the other post. It didn't catch fire, although it does look like that in the picture. I got all that cleaned out yesterday. Looks much better now. It turns out that the sensor is integrated into the fire extinguisher. When the system is discharged, there is a light on the dash that tells you. Now I need to decide if I am going to fix the system or take it out.
