    Rock chips on trailer

So we went on a trip and had no idea that we would have to drive 20km over gravel roads. I tried to slow it down but it wasn't enough and my new Boatmate trailer took a beating. How do you guys deal with rock chips on your trailer? Can I just paint it with rustoleum or something? I'm a newbie and have no idea.

    Thanks

I have painted an entire trailer with a brush and a can of rust-oleum. I'd think getting a close color and touching it up would work fine if you wanted to.

I'd be more worried about rock chips on the boat personally.

When I had steel I sprayed mine with rustoleum satin from time to time. It looked pretty good. I had it sandblasted and painted one time also. I keep my boat for more than a year or two and take great care to keep the boat nice. It sucks that there isn't much you can do for the trailer. I finally bought a really nice aluminum trailer and I love it. Everyone hates on aluminum because they think it means salt water. I bought it because I never have to sand blast and paint or powder coat.

Thanks for the responses. I was worried about the boat too but it made it through unscathed. I plan on getting a trailer tuxedo made for it to protect the boat.
