    Listen to this engine cranking...

My boat starts like this just about every time. The only exception being if I turn it off and then crank it again within about 5-10 seconds. It seems to be a bit "stronger" when I do that. I'm curious if this sounds the same as others - I only have experience with my own boat. I'm trying to figure out if i should add a starter to the Fall list. Let me know what you guys think.

    Starter?

Sounds like your battery is weak/undermatched. Could also be a loose connection at your battery terminals, at the starter, or at the boat's grounding point on the engine.

Bring another battery with jumper cables or one of those jump packs and hook up to your current battery to give more juice.... I bet you see an immediate improvement. check all those terminals first though.

Thanks Ryan. I should have mentioned that I have two batteries - one is brand new. The lazy start happens on either battery and when on both batteries.
