Actually it may not be in upside down It just may have slipped back out of the groove. I would pull the prop if possible and push the key farther up in the groove.

It looks like the key slipped out of the keyway. Is the prop nut tight? Is the prop on tight. If so I wouldn't worry about it for the weekend. You will probably need a puller to remove the prop. If everything is tight just run it. Don't ruin the weekend worrying about it. Fix it next week when you have time to run down a prop puller. Having said that if the prop or nut is loose. remove the nut and prop. then slide the key all the way into the keyway, you may have to straighten it, and retighten everything. Make sure you replace the cotter pin in the castle nut with a new one. .

The oldest boat I have seen with that fancy pegged key is a 2000. I dont know where CC is getting their new shafts from, but I have seen ARE's that dont have that pegged key either. Most likely, that pegged key was installed on a prop/shaft that did not have the receptacle for the peg, and that was the only way they could get it to work. Clearly an installation error that left the prop about 1" further back on the shaft than it should have been- I cant imagine its making much contact with the taper and would vibrate like crazy.

Get a proper key (no peg) and reinstall the prop!

There is no grease needed between the transmission and prop. The only area's that need lubrication are the shaft log (w/packing nut) and the strut bearing. Both of these are lubricated with water, not grease. The packing nut should be adjusted so a drip of water comes out approximately every ten seconds.

Ok thanks took it out agin Sunday ran good but agin after a long hard run it would not start I think its running to rich I have the timing at 14 degrees BTC now I'm at 5700 feet above sea level I'm thinking of backing timing to 10 or 12

Retarding the timing won't help the no start situation. I'm assuming that your starter is not having an issue turning the engine over when you attempt to start the engine, right? Possible reasons for the hard starting when hot would be:

                      -weak coil
-gas boiling in the carberator bowls.
-gas leaking past the needle and seat.

If it does it again, check for spark. Also, take note of what the spark plug looks like. Is it dry and tan? Is it black and soaked with gas?

You won't hear any boiling. That's most likely the sound of water filling the exhaust pipes while it sits idle.
