Best cruise upgrade, 2011 210 + Prop question

I have 2011 210 Coastal Edition, not Team so it has the dials with Nautique cruise control and no LINC.

I have found the Nautique cruise to be very temperamental especially when the boat is loaded and since it doesn't have an RPM mode I am kind of stuck fighting it the whole time. Does anyone have any experience with upgrading this system to a GPS based control? Any recommendations, how hard is the install etc?

Also the boat came with the recreational prop and I am finding it is not ideal when the boat is loaded, feels weak even with the 409. What prop would you recommend going with, the boat is 95% wakeboard, rarely goes over 28 for any reason.

    Many thanks for the help!

I'm sure you could put Zero Off on that. Don't have any idea what size props work best, but I would change the prop 1st and see if that doesn't help the cruise.

Thanks for the response. That is the factory prop on there now, I didn't know that the prop selection would affect the cruise? The speed has always surged up and down past the set point, had the boat from 40 hrs to 140, no change at all. Tried changing the paddlewheel alignment, didn't make any difference. There also don't seem to be any settings you can alter on the Nautique cruise. Pretty frustrating!

The ACME 1579 was the prop on the Team Edition and does fine for my needs with stock ballast for WB and for stock plus 1,000 lbs for surf. Available at Delta (site sponsor). What model prop do you have?

I am not sure of the exact prop number and I can't check now as the boat is in another country. The dealer told me it was the 'recreational' prop though and wasn't ideal if the boat was getting sacked out.

Changing the prop will change the RPM range the motor is operating in which may make it easier for the motor to maintain the speed you want. We foil and my boat runs much better with someone that rides @ 26 or 27 than someone who rides 18 or 19.

Something else to look at is the speed really changing a noticeable amount. Zero Off holds speed great, but the throttle is all over the place, I don't notice the PP working the throttle near as much in either mode, on my boat the speed varies 1/2 mph in either mode. Running RPM tends to let the speed drop and the come back to the set point and speed mode tends to overshoot a little but doesn't let the speed drop below the set point. What you feel at the handle is speed mode is a hot pull, good for doing things you know and RPM is A little softer and I like it better for learning new things and getting consistant with my newer tricks.

ZO is plug and play in your boat...a very easy install.

I can definitly help with the prop. We gotta know what prop is on there now so we have a baseline to make reccomendations.

How heavy do you go? Are you ok with a 25-28mph cruise/ 36mph top speed?

I am going to get a friend to go round to the house in the next couple of days and take a look at the prop, see what's going on there then let you know. I tend to run stock + 2000 + quite a few crew on a good day. Really feel like the boat is struggling and im down at sea level as well.

Have him get the information off the prop as shown under "Reading your Acme Propeller" on this web site:

Also need to know the current amount of clearence between the top edge of the prop and the hull...

                      Sounding like a candidate for a 2315/2313.

Cool, thanks. I am working on getting those details, should get them tomorrow all going to plan.

Zero-Off upgrade is a lot of money, are there any alternatives that would be better than the Nautique one?

Suggestion; Evaluate the prop and change if needed -- that might help matters on its own. . .

The reason I am trying to address it all at once is that I am in the US for a short period in a couple of weeks and I would like to buy what I need and take it back in a suitcase rather than ship it and then pay import duty on it, which is horrendous!

Can anyone else verify that a 15" prop will fit on his 2011 SAN210 with at least 1/2" hull clearance?
