This is what I was describing. I did this for 2yrs...I was able to push a 5000lbs boat/trailer back into the garage by myself, and I am not superhuman.

Without this... it would not have fit into the garage. $50 in parts.

Ok, Earlier post suggested 8'3" or there bouts based on CC data sheet.
Now let me be specific. Is there ANYWAY to reduce that height, by using NYRYAN's method?

Any guess what that height is.

          Thanks Guys Robert

PS any closeups of that contraption, I just spent $$$$ redoing garage door when all I needed was a $50. See how informative this site is.

You can also get 15" wheels (not sure what kind of clearance you need to gain). It doesn't look horrible.

To be honest, I am not sure what the folded clearance is on the g23, i have never folded either of mine...... but lets say ers's number of of 8'3" will be accurate for you on your trailer.

^^^this method will buy you another approx 6-8" or so. I need to know what the highest point on the folded g23 tower is... and where is it located on the boat when folded to give a better estimate. The further forward of the tires that highest folded point is, the better the result.

So, if when folded, the highest point is the tower bases, nearly directly over the tires.... you might buy only maybe 1-3" of additional clearance.

If when folded the highest point on the trailer is the tower.... in vicinity of the forward portion of the windshied.... you may get 8-12".

contraption = 1 heavy duty 750-1000lb ball bearing caster wheel from Tractor Supply, 2 U Bolts and lock nuts. Easy. Mounted as far back as possible to get that tongue as low as possible, to get as much clearance as possible.

Anothe point here as heavy as a G23 is, need to consider is incline and approach into your garage..... perfectly smooth paved? any cracks? is there ANY incline or decline slope into the garage? ^^ mine above had a slight incline into the garage, made it much harder. a decline into the garage would be SWEET and make it easy. other than normal expansion cracks... anything other than perfectly smooth concrete would make this much more difficult.

A few years back i had someone approach me to patent this into a kit. No thanks.

Another point I forgot to mention... you will need to keep that trailer actuator lockout key attached by a lanyard there to the cupler area... when you unhook your trailer from the truck, ie. no electrical 7pin connector connection, the trailer may auto lockout... to prevent it form rolling downhill by itself. That lockout key inserted into the actuator will allow it to free roll and push it into the garage.

Hello all, I'm in the planning phases of building a garage for a G23. I currently have a 210 and it lives in a buddy's barn in the off season but as my fleet has grown to now a few boats, I think I will have outgrown my welcome. Ultimately we'd like to trade the 210 and get a G23 in a year or two and I'd like to build this garage to accommodate the potential new ride.
Based on my reading of this thread it seems a 9' door will cover it, however would anyone suggest going 10' for any reason? I will have an incline into the garage so hand pushing is definitely out.
Also regarding the required depth, do you guys think 30' inside dimensions will get it done? I would prefer not to remove the swim deck.
I'd love to hear your thoughts and opinions on this, and if you've already done it is there anything you'd do differently?

If you're building go with a 12ft door, nobody ever wishes for a smaller garage. That way you can just leave it up.

Except the architect if it is on the garage in the front of the house. Really hard to make a door that large look like it belongs.

9' is all you need. I got lucky on my garage I was able to replace the 8' door with a 9' door by moving the header up a foot and buying new panels for the garage door.
