Cad drawings are nearly complete and ready for laser cutting. Drawing attached has a few layers stacked on top of each other but you all should get the idea. Will mock it up on the boat tonight to check swim platform clearances

So AndrewC, I couldn't tell easy from the photo, but is your transom flat or stepped? In looking at my SV and thinking about this, my transom is stepped down, so I am not sure how I would get the plate set up flat. I would have to have some sort of filler in the step. Here is a quick side photo of the drivers side. Do you have a similar step in? if so, what is your plan/thought on that?

Yeah your exactly right. I will be putting a filler plate in there to bring it all out flush. Will most likely need to do a similar thing on the side too due to the amount if radius in the back corner of the boat.

Can any one tell me the length of travel outwards and downwards of the sliding piece? Thanks

            Update:

Still waiting for the plates to get back from the laser cutters but have been able to do a few other bits.

I worked out that the swim platform is too close to the back of the boat on one side. It appears that when the boat was built, the platform was slightly on the pi$$. This meant that the gap between the platform and the boat was slightly bigger on one side then the other. I though, No worries, I will just undo the 16 or so screws that hold the platform to the brackets and slide it back 10mm. WRONG! nearly all the screws sheared off and were left stuck in the platform. The mild steel bolts had grown into the ally plates that were glassed into the platform.

I have ground the broken off studs that are stuck in the platform down and it is now off at the fiberglassers getting repaired. I am also going to reinstall this using M8 bolts rather then screws into the aluminum. Whilst the brackets were off I sent them to the powder coaters to be painted as well.

I have removed the rear tanks and dividers in preparation for getting in there easily for putting bolts through etc. Also discovered some fiberglass that needed to to be fixed in the back of the boat at the same time.

Mk2 control panel has now been completed and I will most likely cut in tonight. 12v supply wiring in the boat was also done last night.

I also got some machined pips for the sliding plate yesterday thanks to my brother-in-law. These will get welded in and tapped with M5 thread to the backing plate and then machined to an exact height by him again.

The suspense of getting it all going is killing me!

What controls and actuator are your going with to move the plates out?

I had been thinking of the Lenco actuators, but when looking at the space available don't think they would fit in.

I like the size of the Volvo tabs, which have a small depth.

                  What's the plan?

The pictures look great. I think you will need to go into business building these out after this.

Well metal parts came back from the laser cutters today, so I quickly put them together in raw form to check the movement. Out come was a success. Just need to do the fine detail work now.

Me too, but the unfortunate part is I am recovering fro a second shoulder reco, so not sure how long before I will see or ride the wave either. Worst case, end of November

Not sure that I have any plans on selling them. At this stage it is only for my own private use. I can't work out if I can do it why cant Nautique for the older 210's and 220's
