Planned obsolescence. It does not pay for CC to figure this out. If I ran CC, I wouldn't be making these for older boats either.

Agreed, it doesn't pay for CC to develop this, but if it's still a success after the details are worked out I'm sure you can find someone to sell the design to (dealer??).

I would have no idea how to do this myself, but admittedly am curious why you did not choose a switch that you can tell how far in/out they are? Just curious if there is a reason why not?

A few reasons. The actuator is a 6 second travel so its not hard to work out roughly here it is. Secondly, I don't need a indicator to look at, I'd rather just look at the wake and thirdly, I prefer the look of a switch label that actually means what is says rather something that is wrong like "bow up" and "bow down" etc. I think this makes it look more like a back yard after thought. I am building a GPS speed control into the system that Has a auto retract function as well so I think it has all the features that are important.

Fair enough. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. And maybe it will either be all in or out. You'll get a sense of it. 6 seconds. Wow that is short amount of time. I wonder if it would be better to slow it down somehow, and then have the indicator.

Platform got remounted 10mm back tonight and Plates are bolted on. Boat is heading to work tomorrow for some final bits to be welded to the backing plate to suit the curves of the boat.

Great work Andrew! Did you use a piece of nylon or plastic against the hull? Please post up your components when you have a chance...

We are just in the process of that now. Using stainless steel as we speak. In filling on the top left corner and bottom right

I see, so the 220 hull has a lot of curvature right at the transom, wow, that's a great looking fabrication job! Looks like you welded in some "top hat" style threaded bushings to attach your outer plate, and those are doubling as the location/slider points for the plate that moves?

I hear gears grinding in my head...I can just see the winter project list!

Spot on. The pips double as slide runners externally and the internal threat gods the outer plate on. Since this photo, the also included mountings to the hull on the outside corner radius. Will be doing final mounting tomorrow and will post more pictures. Still am planning on getting a couple bits powder coated next week.

Also just mounted the control panel

99% finished. Just going to powder coat the retaining panel black Monday to get a nice stainless / black contrast happening.

Everything is wired up and ready to go. Just need to lift the boat on the trailer at work to check the movement as the tabs cannot be deployed on the trailer due to the long bunks.
