Took the super sport out today to test it before I pull the trigger. Ran great and everything works. Only issue I see is a vibration as you throttle and also continuing at speed. Anyone know what that could be? I could feel it in the drivers seat and the floor. It was very noticeable. Boat only has 175 hours. Also the prop is a four blade that looked to have no damage

Could be a few different things. First thing would be an issue with the prop. Even though it LOOKS good, it may have been rebuilt and not done properly. Could also be a bent shaft or poor engine alignment. Ask the owner if the prop has ever been rebuilt. Also, pull the boat out of the water and turn the prop by hand. See if you can see any inconsistency in the shaft as it turns.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. I would have a marine surveyor or mechanic take a look. It is worth a hundred or so dollars to make sure that you are not getting into a financial sink hole (more than boats already are). The other problem would be how long it was run with whatever problem this is. That could cause more significant issues up the line (prop shaft -> V drive -> etc).Eric, Phoenix AZ

Yank up and down/side to side on the prop to see how much play is in the cutless (strut) bushing. Just being that old may have made it go bad (maybe?). Never spin the prop with engine power while the strut is out of the water though.
Replacing it is a bit of a project on a v-drive.Rob

You haven't bought that thing yet?
I'm glad the cutless is ok, mine went bad mostly because of a shallow sandy bottom river.
MOST likely, it is just the prop.
Our old OJ prop ( 4 blade 14" x 18") was put on newly rebuilt when we got the boat. It always had a bit of a vibration even though it looked perfect. When I put our new acme prop on there, she became as smooth as silk.
If you really want to check the shaft, you can clamp a dial indicator to the strut and check the runout before the strut, after the strut before the prop and after the prop. You can also clamp it to the trailer and check the shaft right where it comes through the hull. I'd bet its all ok though.Rob

What is the prop that is on the boat? The original OJ?
If you plan to sac her out heavy, you will probably end up switching that prop for an acme 1578 or 1236 anyway.
Putting a tower on her (if that's your plan) will cost a bit too because you'll probably want to go with an FCT2 to keep your value high.
A 210 hull with that tower on it will have amazing resale value.
Lots of folks out there would love to have a legacy hull 210.Rob
