    2014 Boatmate trailers

Has any body had any experience with electric brakes on boat trailers. My other trailers had surge brakes and worked fine. Just wanted some feed back.

I had them on my last trailer. It was a triple axle. They work really good. I never had any problems with dunking them in the water. I like how there is less movement in the tongue of the trailer with the electric brakes. I also like how the brake controller allows for more adjustment in terms of braking intensity and delay. The other nice thing is you can set the trailer brakes manually by sliding the lever on the brake controller in the tow vehicle.

      My trailer history:

Phoenix Aluminum Ibeam under the Wakesetter - B-. due to I beam flex while on the jackstand (excessive) and rub marks on the hull.

Boatmate under the first G23- A. Wire bundle in the rear had to be zip tied so it wouldn't hang down. Towed and trailered flawlessly .

Boatmate under current G23. C. So far. Came with NO BrAKE FLUID had to take to get all the lines bled... Still waiting for reimbursement. Sloppy QAQC and dangerous, NO trailer brakes at all first 2 weeks. Otherwise flawless.

Thanks for the input. I currently have an order in for a 2014 G23.
