    05 210 Steering Cable Replacement

After searching the forum, I have been plodding away at swapping out my snapped steering cable.
What a right pain in the backside!
Hard tank out, back lounge out, main floor out, kick panel out & finally gas tank out!
Only to find that there is no way that the old one will pull through the tiny conduit without cutting the nut off...
I absolutely love my boat, but the designers really had a massive fail when they decided to run the steering cable through this conduit.
For the record, I'll be cutting the nut off & revising the route to beside/above the belly hard tank & beside the gas tank so hopefully next time it can be changed much easier...

My 03 210 was run on top of the gas tank. It was a full day job for me and that was without having to pull the gas tank or belly ballast. On the positive side, you won't believe how much better your boat will drive after a new steering cable.

Looks like it would fit if they hadn't run the other cables through the same conduit. Can you remove them and then slide it out? I'm guessing those 2 unused conduits should have been used for the other cables and that one only for the steering cable.

My friend and I did his 05 recently. Same stupid setup. We ended up routing it just like you are saying. 21 hours of use later and she drives like a brand new boat.

Hi gride - I actually read about your issues & wondered if they were the same as mine.
It owes me a few hours but it'll be over after only a couple more.
My boat is actually quite a similar colour scheme to your mates.

sharp looking boat. it sucks so badly to replace it, but the improvement is so worth it. we might even do mine this winter; mine isn't even too bad.

              Sell,

I am getting ready to do the same thing on my boat. Any words of advise on what to do/ not to do? Any more pictures or tricks to getting everything out of the way?

              Thanks!
