    Some more winterizing Info.

Some more info on this topic please. I have read many of the other winterization threads and have 99% of the info for my boat. Last year I did the winterization with a mechanic from a dealer, so i just want to be sure that I have everything covered. Sorry to beat this to death I just want to be sure. I have a 2008 SV211 LE with EX343.

I have drained the block X2,
    exhaust manifolds X2,
    V drive
    Circulating pump
    Bottom of sea water pump.
    Ballast tanks/ added AF.
    Fueled and stabil.

All closed back up and run/filled with 5 Gal. of AF.

Please any comments just for my peace of mind would be great.

    Thanks
    Cubeyyc.

I pull out the impeller... inspect it, if it is good, just keep it out for the winter so that it doesn't dry-out and set in position.

As I pull the impeller, I also have pulled the belt, and I leave the belt off for the winter... may not really be an issue, but releases the tension on the pullies, etc.

I also drain the FCC and put in a new filter.

I then spray T-9 Boesheild on some of the ballast valves that always seem to get stuck, and anything else I know I need to adjust first thing in the spring.

Don't let the AF sit in your water strainer cup all winter. If you have a heater you'll want to winterize that too. Probably want to unhook batteries and pull them out.

Check the muffler for a drain . I know my 08 343 cat engine has one. If you have a heater remove both hoses from the engine blow or use a wet dry vac to remove the water . Lift up one hose install a funnel and pour in AF until it comes out the other hose . Then reinstall them.

Good idea. The plastic gets very brittle and cloudy if the AF sits in it all winter.

I am not sure what year and engine models use raw water versus AF in the heater. I believe all the semi-closed loop PCMs run AF in the heater. If your heater uses AF, you of course do not need to drain it.

I would like to see PCM go to AF for the transmission as well and eliminate all raw water except in the heat exchanger and exhaust.
