Cigarette Lighter not working

hey guys, my buddy just bought a pump for his fat sacs, we went up to the cottage last night after work to get in a quick couple hr session, the only problem we had was that when he tried to use the pump, it wouldn't work, i know it's the lighter thats the problem since we tried his Ipod adapter & that didn't work either. The boat is a 1995/96 Sport Nautique... i can't remember, its one of the last years w/ the sloped transom, where are the Fuses in this boat? or has anyne else had any problems with their lighter adapter. Iknow they havent used it much or even maybe at all prior to this.
Sorry guys, this is probably a really stupidly easy fix but i didnt have time last night to do much, or look real hard for the fuses or anything. I've got a '78 Nautique, & im just not totally sure about it & didnt have any time last night. THANks in advance for your help.

The lighter is usually connected to one of the ACC switches on the dash. Try turning on the ACC switches at the bottom of the switch panel, and see if it works then. That's how mine was wired on my '94.

yeah we had all of the ACC switches on b/c we didn't know which one would run it, & still nothing...

it's the same part as the "Plug Problem" post. Wait to see what FROST suggests. Or, if u can access behind it, check connection. May be as easy as slipped off or poor crimp.

I had one that didn't work. It showed voltage with a meter but the contact inside was corroded, which wasn't surprising after 20 years. I put in a new socket for about $7. Corrosion either on the wires or inside the plug is the most likely culprit.

Normally that year it was the #1 acc breaker that turns it on but it is easy to remove the dash pod and check your wiring to see if the wire has come off or is broken.
