    ACME 668 on Ski Nautique 200 6L

Ive been searching all over and have not found any info about this prop being on a 200. I currently have the 654 and want to get something that will lower the rpm's a bit just to save gas and maybe help with engine longevity. It is a an open bow with the zr409 and I am at exactly sea-level.

    Thanks

I'm running a 668 and it is a nice pull. Still has plenty of holeshot, but lowers the RPMs. Had an open rated skier comment that the 668 feels much nicer (and easier to run 39off) than the 654 on his personal boat. He switch props after skiing behind my boat. The 6L promo boats here in Texas all have the 668. That was the setup on the boat used for Nate Smith's pending world record a few months ago.

Most are running the 422 or the 654 on the 5.7 200. I have a bunch of over stock 668s in the shop if you are looking to try one out. It has slightly more cup than a 422. Probably see an rpm drop of about 100-150 over a 422. I see you are running a 409 so it should spin that 668 just fine. It was the High Output engine prop for 196 boats.

I run the 668 on my 200 with the 5.7.....works great. All I do is slalom on a private lake. Plenty of holeshot and reduced revs at speed. Don't notice any difference from tournament pulls.

I can't see 200 rpm difference (possibly less at ski speeds) having a noticeable desired effect on gas or on engine longevity. I guess if you are against the limiter a lot then perhaps going to a 668 is a good idea. Otherwise prop that boat for max performance.

Exactly What is the optimim prop for this boat. we slalom at between 30-34 mph and In notice at 34mph revs at best 4000/4200 drinking lots of gas..

I have been running a 668 on my 6 liter 200's from time to time since the the hull came out. Especially for tournament usage. However for day to day on the lake I run a OJ 428 with extra cup. Rpm's at 34 mph are 3520 with two persons and a short line skier. I prefer the OJ for all around performance, the OJ is more robust and does not ding or get damaged as easy. I just picked up my 2014 I changed out the prop first thing to the OJ. Personal preference, kinda like tire's! Some like Firestone I prefer Goodyear.
