83 steering cable

[83nautique]

Where can I find a steering cable for a 83 nautique? I called Vince at Discount Inboard Marine and they have cables in even feet lengths for around $130.00. But he said I need a extra half foot and he can't help me. I then called Southeast Correct Craft and they want $230.00. What is the deal? Can anyone help me find a more reasonable price. :|

Thanks for the info. I guess my real question is why 17 or 18 foot cable is $130 at Discount Inboard Marine and my 83 nautique calls for 17.5 foot of cable and now the cost almost doubles for .5 foot of cable. I love my nautique and think they make the best boat money can buy. It just seems like something smells bad. :evil:
