    211 raw water pickup

    Hi guys

    I have a 07 211 with a 343 PCM and I'm looking to install a Perko flush.
Dose anyone know off hand what diameter unit I need?

Better yet, do what I did. Just replace the 90 degree fitting that goes into the strainer with a T and add a hose fitting on the end. I did this in 2005 and it works perfectly. I don't trust the perko flush units, too many stories of the spring not closing the valve. I like the positive closure of my capped hose fitting.

I would agree, not sure about having a spring like that. But if you are running full 40+psi from a house hose, you may have some fittings leak that aren't able to handle that pressure. But I had cleaned up some of mine and don't have any problems.

If you are going through the process of putting a T in, then run the hose all the way back to the transom and put one of these fittings in. Then it looks nice and stock.

I had a crappy plastic one on my SV and it was cracking so I upgraded to this... very nice. Then I have a hose with a valve fitting on the end so I can turn it on/off from the transom.

Makes it easy to clean/flush the engine as well as test-run the engine when working on stuff in the driveway.

I also installed a T in the line. I used a quick connect brass fitting, similar to a quick connect air compressor fitting, just bigger. It works great. I never worry about it leaking and it automatically closes when disconnected. I routed mine to come out of the floor where you reach in to screw in the drain plug.
