The pulley on my Sherwood pump on my 2002 GT-40 is bent. I'm not sure how it happened. It may have been that way when I bought the boat last year. I'm wondering if it was done when changing a belt someone may have put a pry bar in the groove for tension and bent it. Everything runs fine, but the belt has premature wear. Can the pulley be replaced or do I need to buy a new pump?

I replaced my pump last year after the bearings fell out and it started sucking air.
I did not look super closely at the fit of the pulley to shaft, but it seemed like a fit so
tight you might destroy the pulley taking it off.
If yours is wobbling really bad, your bearings and seals may not have much life left anyway.
P.S. If you do keep using it, when it starts sucking air, the engine should go into "limp mode" when the temp gets to 200F.Last edited by crobi2; 01-02-2014, 10:12 AM.Rob
