Anyone have some tips/advice for curing a slick steering wheel on a 196? We have a 2005 that isn't horrible, but the wheel is noticeably weathered and slick. Thanks,

The wheel on my 99 was getting a little weathered so I hit it with some Armorall. It brought back the rubber finish back quite nicely. I was afraid the Armorall would make it really slick so I spent a little bit of time buffing it in with a towel and it didn't seem greasy at all when I was done. I am not sure that will help with yours because I think it's made out of a different material but it worked great for me. Is your wheel leather wrapped? Perhaps a leather cleaner and restorer would help to bring yours back.Shawn

Bringing this thread back. 2001 196 with a slick steering wheel. Steering wheel is slick but workable in the course, but is a two handed operation dropping the skier at both ends. I spent a while one morning working Armorall into the wheel and it seemed to soften up the wheel and bring back some grip, but this faded as the day went on. Do I need to just keep soaking this thing in ArmorAll till it stays soft and grippy all day, or is a there another way...? Thanks!
