    speeed cut down 01SAN

to day have a nice day when go back on the way I notice RMP kept on max 2200-2500,can't exeed even full throttle,(normal can run over 4000RPM),after back to dock,I check and notice the coolent lever higher than normal, and feel no pressure when open the coolent cap,I see on the surface of the collent, check oil mix or not, seems (very thin and little looks like "oil" foating,on it,(but not obvious),later I see again ,the collent level lower to normal again,I add about 300ml distilled water, run the engine about 5 minute, open collent cap, little pressure feel,I check the engine oil to see milky or not ,it's normal no milky, any body had the like experience, and any advise for further realise he problem?

The boat went into limp mode. What year is it? You will probably need to take it to your dealer. Is it the ZR6 Engine?

      oil pressure sensor

you need a new oil pressure sensor. If it goes bad, your red light will come on....goes into limp mode. to check it out, disconnect the switch wire, its next to your oil filter, has one wire screwed into it. If the boat runs fine, doesnt over heat, then you need a new sensor. If the boat is still in limp mode after you diconnected it, your sol, take it to the dealer.

        RE: oil pressure sensor

Richard you have the GT-40 right? There are two switches that can cause the motor to go into limp mode and they are the oil pressure switch and the over heat switch. The oil presssure switch is by the oil filter and it is the smaller one with the meshed cover wire going to it, the over heat switch is on top of the engine on the port side near the distributor. Remove one wire from one sensor and retest the boat and it will lead you to the problem sensor but if it does not take care of the problem it is either in the computer or the harness.

          RE: oil pressure sensor

          Thanks all for the advises,
The engine is GT-40,there are no alarm red light can see,all is normal on the panel, but temperature, recently stay at 180F,if runing high speed or at idle tem tend to over 180F,I brought a new 143F thermostate for change but not yet, if some body can tell me how to change and the location, this may be the solution.

Sounds like you need to change the impeller and not necessarily the thermostat. When was the impeller last changed?

impeller was change 2 months ago for high temp reasonbut still the same ,so now I think to change thermostate, some body told me an old trermostate will make higher temp.due to small water flow volume.

yeah if you just replaced the impeller, go ahead and change the thermostat. Make sure you check all hose fittings as well to make sure you aren't sucking in air.

                    RE: the way change thermostat

To day I checked hight temp problem (180F) of my 01 SAN,GT-40 engine,I use fake a lake and run the engine ,I open the collant cap,I notice the coolant very quiet inside, I think the freh water don't work, later, when temp. going up ,the coolant level going higher,I stop the engine, before I want change a new thermatat, but now I think I should check the fresh water pump first, any one had experience on this,I love to hear.
